College of Polytechnics (VŠPJ)

College of Polytechnics (VŠPJ) – was founded in 2004 as the youngest public university in Czech Republic. The main goal of education is to give their students not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical knowledge. From the second year students gain practical experience through a work placement, 12 – 32 weeks in total, depending on the study program. Also students can be part of Erasmus+ program and improve their qualifications at partner universities in Europe.

Education in Czech language is completely free, in English the cost of education depends on the chosen specialty.

The university is divided into departments:

Department of technical studies

Has seven specialized laboratories, which, in addition to direct education, are used for the implementation of student projects and bachelor’s theses. Studying programs: Computer Systems, Applied Computer Science, Engineering for Industry and Electrical Engineering and Informatics.

Department of travel and tourism

Department provides for the studying of professional subjects for the Travel and Tourism degree program. The teaching is provided for by academics of the department, external teachers from other schools, and professionals from the practice.

Department of mathematics

During the education, students receive practical knowledge in the field of financial management and economics, tax systems, financial and management accounting. Graduates after graduation from the university work in leadership positions or in public organizations.

Department of health care studies

Opened doors for students in 2008 and offers bachelor programs which prepare students for positions of General Nurse and Midwifery. Education takes place only in Czech language. Studying programs: Midwifery program, General Nurse program and master degree Community Care in Midwifery.

Department of social work

Is the youngest department in the university since 2013. Prepare students to identify groups of the population in need of assistance and to train social workers who rationally organize and provide professional assistance.
