Mendel University in Brno

Mendel University in Brno – began its work in 1919 and proudly bears the name of J. G. Mendel, the founder of modern genetics. University has five faculties and one institute and is located in the city of Brno, the unofficial capital of the Moravian region. There are over 8,300 students at the university, including 5,500 undergraduates and 2,800 postgraduates.

It was opened as the first falquette in 1919 and has been teaching in a number of training programs for a hundred years.

Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology

The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology of the Mendel University in Brno – is one of the main institutes of university education, research, development and expert activity in the field of forestry, landscape design, horticulture and wood technology, processing and use of wood and furniture.

Located in Lednice, it was opened in 1985 and trained several generations of horticultural engineers and landscape architects throughout the field of horticulture.

The main mission of the faculty is the development of educational and research activities focused on all aspects of regional development both in the national and international context.

Faculty of Business and Economics

The Faculty of Business and Economics – was established in 1959 and boasts more than 20,000 successful graduates in 61 years of operation. Every year more than 3000 students are taught at the faculty in various specialties. The most popular of specialties: “management”, “economics” and “informatics”.

Institute of Lifelong Learning

The Institute of Lifelong Learning is an independent university institute of Mendel University in Brno since 2006. Degree programs in pedagogy, economic-technical disciplines, and scientific research activities associated with teaching.
