Unique animals in the Prague Zoo
Is Monday a tough day? We do not agree! After all, today, on 10th of June , our students of the summer educational programs of MSM went on a fun and informative excursion to the largest zoo in the Czech Republic.
After the zoo opened in 1931, its size was no more than 8 hectares, but at the beginning of the 21st century, the area increased a lot.
Interesting fact! This zoo expanded rather quickly and the collection of animals was constantly replenished until the tragedy of 2002, when the zoo experienced a flood. In the zoo, you can still find marks indicating the level of water that used to be during the flood.
Located near Troya, the zoo is neighboring the Botanical Garden and the famous Troy Castle. From the top of the zoo, which can be reached by cable car, students enjoyed the breathtaking view of Prague sights. For those who are not afraid to put a little bit of physical effort, it was possible to save money and climb to the top of the zoo on feet, but believe us, it was worth it!
On the territory of the zoo are many recreation points, not only with tea and coffee, but also traditional Czech snacks. The zoo offers a variety of routes, among which you can choose the one that best suits your needs. Here you can find a lot of animals: elephants, gorillas, crocodiles, flamingos and even domesticated animals, which students could feed with special food they bought nearby!
Other entertainments are also available at the zoo – for example, you could take pictures at a special stand with images of gorillas or enjoy the mini-pool with the cooling water.
The territory is quite large and it would be tiring to visit every part of it at one day, but we managed to see the most interesting places.
We hope that the meeting with cute animals from the Prague Zoo has left you with a good mood. Below we have posted memorable photos from the photo report “The largest zoo in the Czech Republic”. Also, some of the photos you will find in Instagram.
