Internal Rules for MSM Students

1 Students of the 1 year course of the International Union of Youth (hereby listed as MSM) are obligated to:
  • Follow the present «Internal rules», rules of behavior in public areas, behavior rules set in places of accommodation and education, as well as laws of Czech Republic.
  • Provide necessary documents for registration at MSM.
  • Visit all class hours and the cultural program of MSM.
  • Follow counselor’s instructions at cultural events.
  • Keep the areas of education, accommodation and public university areas neat and tidy.
  • Not to incite any type of inter-ethnic strife.
  • Strictly adhere to the schedule of the MSM, and the Institute of Language Training JASPEX (CTU faculty) and the Faculty of Economics (CULS faculty).
  • In case of any problems or health issues, immediately inform a supervisor.
  • Do not destroy property, which belongs to the place of residence, educational institution or MSM.
  • Carry around his or her passport and health insurance at all times.
  • MSM, Institute of Language Training JASPEX (CTU faculty) and Faculty of Economics (CULS faculty) take no responsibility for the students in the period outside of his class hours, and in cases when the student attends optional classes and cultural program events.
  • If a student misses a cultural program event organized by the MSM. MSM is not obligated to refund the amount for the event missed by the student.
  • When registering, students receive books and workbooks. After completing the course student must return the textbook. Workbooks are kept by the students. If the book is ruined, scribbled on over or damaged in any way, students pay 20 euros for each book. If a student wants to purchase the book for himself, the cost per book is of EUR 20 and it will be deducted from the deposit.
  • Within three 3 working days after arriving to the Czech Republic, the student may apply for an international student (ISIC) card with the help of the councilors. Expenses are paid by the student (about 350 CZK).
  • If the student changes their contact information (phone number, address, e-mail) they should contact the MSM councilor within one day by SMS and e-mail and provide the updated information.
  • The final test to determine language level is conducted by the Institute of Language Training JASPEX (CTU faculty) and the Faculty of Economics (CULS faculty). Any date change should be discussed with a MSM councilor and the head of the language centre in advance. Any charges for taking exam on a different day are paid by the student.
  • In the case the student misses the Welcoming Day event by MSM without an excuse, MSM is not responsible to provide further information related to this university.
  • If the student does not attend a mandatory meeting scheduled by employees of MSM without a valid reason, no further consultation on the missed subject will be provided.
  • Studies of the Czech language take place in a group of maximum 18 people.
  • Supervision by MSM does not include finding apartments, communicating with real estate companies, apartment owners, help with registration with the foreign police after moving to an apartment.
  • The student is required to attend a minimum of 80% of classes. If a student misses more than 20% of classes without a valid reason, he or she will be expelled with subsequent deportation. Excused absences include illness, confirmed by a certificate from a doctor, as well as the urgent departure home for family reasons. Please inform an MSM counselor and teachers of absences in advance.
  • Underage students must be at their place of residence at 23:00.
  • All organizational issues are to be presented in person in written form at the MSM office.
  • Respect private property.
2 Students of the 1 year course of MSM are strictly forbidden to:
  • To consume drugs and psychotropic substances at the MSM residence and education locations.
  • To consume alcohol and alcoholic beverages at the MSM residence and education locations.
  • To smoke at the MSM residence and education locations. The fine for smoking at the place of residence is 2000 CZK.
  • To use flames, candles, fireworks in the building and on the territory of the MSM residence and education campuses.
  • To use appliances prohibited at the place of residence.
  • To take outsiders to the MSM residence and education locations.
  • To do something outside of standards of ethical behaviour in public.
  • To endanger student’s own lives and the lives of others.
  • To violate the internal rules and the rules set at the place of residence and education.
3 Penalties
  • In case the student breaches the given rules, MSM must inform their parents and has the right to expel the student from the preparation courses.
  • In cases if the student is at fault for causing damage to places of residence and education of CTU/CULS or MSM, than MSM and CTU/CULS have the right to penalize the student with the full cost of the damaged property.
