How students spend their summer  weeks in Prague

On August 21, students of the summer educational programs of the International Union of Youth got a unique opportunity to participate in one of the most beloved entertainments of both local residents and tourists who come to Prague for the summer season – a ride on catamarans.

Catamarans can be rented both by group of people or by a single person: not only conventional structures are available for rent, but also catamarans in the form of giant swans, retro cars, as well as ordinary ones, but with an open flat platform.

This type of leisure in the open air is known to some of us from far childhood, as one of the safest and most reliable means of entertainment that even children can enjoy. MSM students were divided into teams of four people, each of which have chosen one of the bright new hand-driven catamarans.

Interesting fact: In the Czech translation, the word “catamaran” sounds like “shlapadlo” (from Czech word “shalapat” – to step on something).

In addition to outdoor activities, the catamaran rental service also gives aesthetic pleasure – how much of beauty you can see slowly sailing along the Vltava on the shore! These are the spiers of Prague Castle, and the stone structure of Charles Bridge from an unusual angle, and the red roofs of typical Czech buildings.

Although a catamaran ride is one of the most relaxing activities, every second students were supervised by an MSM curator. Before starting, special instructions were given regarding the territory on which you can ride, as well as the location of special limiters.

Each summer, students of the International Union of Youth have a special program thanks to the efforts of teachers, coordinators, as well as guides for students. Not only a special educational, but also an entertaining program is created not only in Prague and throughout the Czech Republic, butto other cities in Europe.

Below we have posted for you a detailed photo report from the catamarans, which can be found by clicking on the link. We also regularly publish the latest news from MSM students on Instagram.
